In a significant move for Ghana’s political landscape, President-elect John Dramani Mahama has called upon the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Leadership to nominate the Right Honourable Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin as the Speaker for the 9th Parliament.

This announcement reflects Mahama’s strong belief in Bagbin’s leadership capabilities and his immense experience in Ghana’s political arena.

Rt. Hon. Alban Bagbin, who has been a key figure in Ghana’s Parliament for decades, has earned recognition for his tenure as both the Minority and Majority Leader, as well as Speaker of the 8th Parliament.

His rise from the Member of Parliament for Nadowli to his pivotal roles within the legislature has made him one of the most influential and respected politicians in the country.
