In a recent appearance on GTV, veteran actress Grace Omaboe, who has experienced both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), urged celebrities to exercise caution when engaging in political matters, particularly in terms of loyalty to these two prominent parties.
The actress who was also a musician and an activist, alerted celebs who are engaged in politics about the daunting challenges that lie ahead if their party does not secure an electoral victory.
She emphasized that those entering the political arena should hope for their party’s success, as a loss could result in widespread rejection, leading to a lack of casting opportunities and limited viewership for their films.
“If you’re going into politics and you’re an artiste, pray that your party wins, because if your party loses, you will be shut down by everybody.
“They won’t cast you and they will not let people even watch your film,” she stated in an interview on GTV.
Recounting her own experiences, Omaboe who is professionally known as Maame Dokono said she wasn’t given any movie roles and was sidelined for about two years.
‘I wasn’t cast for about two years,” she recalled.
