Loyalty Matters – Bulldog Cautions NDC Against Newcomers Dictating Decisions

Entertainment critic and former manager of Shatta Wale Bulldog has shared candid views about the dynamics within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) during his appearance on UTV’s United Showbiz.

As the NDC began its tenure under the leadership of President John Dramani Mahama, Bulldog called for a careful balance of loyalty and competence in the party’s decision-making processes.

Expressing concern over the influence of new entrants to the party, such as Big Akwes, who recently defected from the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bulldog questioned the appropriateness of such individuals attempting to shape critical appointments.

He emphasized the importance of recognizing long-standing members like Res Omar, who have shown unwavering dedication to the party through its challenges.

Bulldog was firm in his stance, stating, “Some of us have been loyal to this party for years. That dedication matters when it comes to making decisions. It’s unfair for someone who just joined to start influencing positions.”

In addition to loyalty, Bulldog delved into the debate about academic qualifications in political leadership. Using the previous administration under former President Nana Akufo-Addo as an example, he argued that degrees alone are not a guarantee of success.

Reflecting on past governance, he remarked, “Look at the last government; they had all the degrees you can think of, but where did it take us? Academic qualifications are good, but they don’t automatically make you competent.”

Instead, he urged the NDC to prioritize practical skills and results-driven leadership in appointing individuals to critical roles.

For Bulldog, the party’s success would hinge on choosing leaders who can deliver tangible outcomes rather than simply boasting impressive educational credentials.
