During a radio interview, former Ghanaian rapper and songwriter Lord Kenya revealed that the legendary American rapper 2Pac greatly influenced his music during his rap career.
Kenya praised 2Pac for his poetic lyrics and shared musical beliefs, stating that the late rapper was ahead of his time and his music was filled with depth—a quality that Kenya also incorporated into his work.
Despite transitioning from rap to evangelism, Lord Kenya is still regarded as one of the greatest Ghanaian rappers of all time, maintaining his legacy in the history of Ghanaian music.
In a video shared online, Lord Kenya reminisced about his musical journey and shared some cherished memories from his time in the industry.
The rapper, with a remarkable collection of seven albums under his belt, shared his sentiments in a previous interview with Hammer on Pufe FM.
He expressed a deep sense of fulfilment and pride in having produced such a significant number of albums within a relatively brief period.
When questioned about his reaction upon hearing his songs played consecutively, his initial response was simply wow.
“I mean seven albums! I don’t know which Ghanaian rapper has got seven albums.
“Five years with 7 albums. I mean we’re talking about model of consistency. Five years. Five years. Five years. You could tell we actually worked,” he said.
He however said he does not care about being in the limelight anymore and that being an evangelist and winning souls for Christ is all that matters to him.
