Efia Odo has reflected on a controversial tweet she posted after leaving Eat Avenue Restaurant, admitting that her emotions got the better of her.
During an appearance on the Rants, Bants, and Confessions podcast, she addressed the now-deleted tweet, which read, “Eat at your own risk,” a statement that stirred confusion among her followers and customers of the restaurant.
“Obviously, I moved with emotions. It is something I shouldn’t have tweeted,” Efia Odo confessed. She acknowledged that many people associated with the restaurant because of her, and her tweet may have been misleading.
“People who are going there because of me will now say, ‘Efia Odo says to eat at your own risk—what is she trying to say?’ Looking back at it now, it was very childish of me,” she admitted.
The media personality clarified that her tweet wasn’t meant to disparage the restaurant but rather to distance herself from any customer service issues following her departure.
“It was more like, ‘I’m not there, and if anything happens, it’s at your own risk.’ Let’s say you get the wrong order—normally, people were coming to me in my DMs because I was doing a lot of the PR. So it was more of, ‘If you have problems, don’t come to me.'”
Efia Odo also shared insights into her sociable nature and how it impacted her role at the restaurant.
“I’m sociable with customers and enjoy flirting, which often leads to them spending more,” she added, revealing how her personality played a role in the restaurant’s customer interactions.
Though she has moved on from Eat Avenue, Odo’s candid reflections highlight how emotions can cloud judgment and lead to public missteps, especially when one’s name is closely tied to a brand.
