Lilwin’s lawyer, Margaret Mary Adjei Twum, has absolved the actor of any blame in the death of the little boy who died in the infamous accident he was involved in, stating that her client’s involvement in the accident was not intentional.
Margaret says she is expecting to be exonerated as the court awaits guidance from the Attorney General’s office.
She emphasized that Lilwin was not to blame for the incident. During the court session on Monday, July 29, 2024, it was mentioned that the case file was still being reviewed.
Citinewsroom says dollowing the court session, the lawyer expressed that the incident had adversely affected the actor due to the negative publicity surrounding it.
“In fact, those incidents have really affected him. The way we were praying that the movie, ‘A Country Called Ghana’, how it was supposed to go because of the accidents and the media and also the negative comments around it has somehow affected the movie itself. But what can you say? Somebody is dead. So, we are not thinking in terms of comics.”
“We want to think as reasonable human beings. And then we pray that as time flies, the family of the deceased will have some sort of comfort, and closure. We are not so much conscious about the money. Now we pray that the family members will be healed and then things will be fine.”
“We will defend because we are so standing on his innocence. We still believe in his innocence until proven otherwise. We will still pursue our posture and the theory of our case will change when we have the reports from the Attorney General,” she said.
The A Country Called Ghana movie producer was arrested by the Manhyia Divisional police command following his alleged role in a tragic accident resulting in the death of a 3-year-old child.
The arrest is in connection with a recent accident in which he was driving and tragically caused the death of a three-year-old boy called Richard Nana Yaw Ampomah.
The boy died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital on Saturday, May 25, 2024 after being involved in an accident at Amakom in Kumasi.
It is reported that Nana Yaw was seated in the front passenger seat of his father’s vehicle when it collided with Lilwin’s branded Mercedes Benz.
Eyewitnesses claim that the actor was driving at high speed during the collision.
The family of the deceased has been demanding justice, leading to intensified efforts by the police.
