Actor and musician Lilwin has criticized the media for their sensationalized coverage of his tragic accident, which resulted in the death of a young boy named Nana Yaw.
Lilwin expressed his disappointment with how the media portrayed the aftermath of the accident, stating that it has unfairly tarnished his reputation.
The veteran Kumawood actor who recently funded his biggest movie project ‘A Country Called Ghana,’ said he has a firm belief that bloggers and journalists have misrepresented the incident, making it seem as though he had malicious intentions.
As far as this entertainment news is concerned, Lilwin clarified that the accident was unintentional, attributing it to a car malfunction and poor road conditions.
“Who will want to hit the road, kill themselves, and destroy their car? I did not intend for any misfortune to befall me or even the victims.
“The car is a machine; anything can happen, and the roads are also a factor,” Lilwin said.
Meanwhile, Lilwin is being tried for the death of the three-year-old boy, Richard Nana Yaw Ampomah who died in that ill-fated accident.
The boy died at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital on Saturday, May 25, after being involved in an accident at Amakom in Kumasi.
It is reported that Nana Yaw was seated in the front passenger seat of his father’s vehicle when it collided with Lilwin’s branded Mercedes Benz.
Eyewitnesses claimed that the actor was driving at high speed during the collision.
The family of the deceased has been demanding justice, leading to intensified efforts by the police.
Lilwin was released on bail of GH₵50,000 with 2 sureties by the Asokore Mampong District Court on June 27.
