Lil Durk deleted a ‘friendly’ message targeted at his former girlfriend India Royale in the spirit of Valentine’s Day as it appeared his proclamation of love was not well received by her.

The awkward incident occurred on February 14 a day when Valentine’s Day was trending on social media.

“Happy Valentine’s Day to the woman that made me a man,” Lil Durk wrote on his Instagram Story with a photo of India. “I love you @indiaroyale”

The post was accompanied by a clip of Future’s 2014 song “I Won.”

A short while later, India appeared to respond in a string of tweets, and she wasn’t happy about it.

“People really do not respect boundaries at all,” India wrote. “I try my best to be respectful and not put on a show but people don’t respect my choices. Let it go.”

After learning of his ex’s response, Durk went back to his Instagram Story to defend his initial post before completely deleting it.

“I post cause I wanted to,” Lil Durk wrote in the since-deleted post. “The internet don’t run Durk. Try the troll with another MFr. Leave certain people alone.”
