Wizkid is still grappling with the loss of his mother. In a recent Instagram post, he expressed how meaningless life has become for him since her passing in August 2023 during his album tour in Europe.
Wizkid’s appeal to his fans to seek solace in God showcases his yearning for spiritual enlightenment amidst these challenging circumstances. He acknowledges that his existence has lost its purpose since the passing of his mother, yet he remains determined to triumph over this profound emotional setback.
He wrote, “Made idk days after I lost my mum. Life has been meaningless! But we dey. Sometimes you have to let everything go. Work with God.”
Wizkid lost his mother, Jane Dolapo Balogun, in London back in August. As a reminder, Wizkid’s upbringing took place in a polygamous household with a Muslim father and a Christian mother.
During a radio interview with Tim Westwood a few years ago, Wizkid confirmed that his father, Muniru Olatunji Balogun, had three wives.
Wizkid’s mother, a pillar of strength, provided unwavering support to her son as he skyrocketed to success in the music industry. Her constant presence at concerts and events served as a testament to her unwavering dedication to her son’s career.
