Nigerian entertainer Noble Igwe has taken to his Instagram stories to deliver a blunt critique of lace frontals, a popular hair trend among women, calling for its retirement in 2024.
His candid post, laced with humour and honesty, sparked both laughter and debate across social media.
“Once you leave the salon and take off the band, we all can see the lace,” Noble began, offering a vivid picture of what he described as a common but unflattering sight.
He didn’t hold back, adding, “Once it’s more than a day, we can see the lace lifting and the glue. Three days later, we can see the lace, the glue, and your natural hair from the back.”

Highlighting how the effort and expense often fall short of achieving the desired look, he remarked, “It does not matter how much you spent on it, it will always look tacky.”
Noble’s critique, while sharp, was not without self-awareness. Acknowledging that his comments might feel personal, he admitted, “I’m really sorry if my last post felt a bit personal, it’s just because your hair attacks my eyes.” He went on to claim that his opinion reflects the thoughts of many who are too polite to speak up.
“You look untidy with the lace showing, fake baby hair almost touching your brows, and thick-curled sideburns,” he continued, urging women to rethink their styling choices.
Noble ended his post with a plea to leave the trend in the past, saying, “Let us leave them with 2024.”
