Ohemaa Mercy has expressed her thoughts on the controversy surrounding the Defe Defe song, which was allegedly ‘stolen’ by Team Eternity from Hallelujah Voices.
During an interview with DJ Slim on Hitz FM, Ohemaa Mercy appealed to Kwame Micky, who is considering a lawsuit for copyright infringement, to consider letting the matter go in the interest of Christianity.
Despite her close relationship with Team Eternity, she emphasized the importance of reaching a peaceful resolution to the issue, as the original version of the song is what people are familiar with and has brought recognition to Hallelujah Voices on the global stage and augmenting entertainment news platforms.

“I am very close to Team Eternity, they are my royals, Ohemaa Mercy said, adding that although she does not have a close relationship with Kwame Mickey, but she pleaded with him to let the matter go.
“Anywhere the tune ‘Defe Defe’ is played, people can easily recognize it. That song has been a source of inspiration to many people and has gone international.
“So, he should forgive them and let the matter go,” she said.
Kwame Micky, the executive producer of the song Defe Defe which was produced twenty years ago, recently raised concerns about copyright infringement in a Facebook post directed at Team Eternity.
He wrote: “Who is that Defe Defe singer? If I start right now them go say I am ‘mansonia’. What is the difference between the two songs? Somebody tell her to report and do the needful. That’s all.”
