Kwame Ntow Amoah has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), replacing Edward Bawa.
Bawa, who held the position briefly, has been reassigned to GOIL.
GNPC staff have welcomed Amoah’s leadership, expressing confidence in his ability to steer the corporation’s strategic vision and drive its continued growth.
Mr. Amoah brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having served as Deputy Chief Executive at GNPC and Advisor to the Minister of Energy, as well as Director of Petroleum at the Ministry of Energy.

Beyond these positions, he has chaired and contributed to several national and international industry boards and committees, playing a crucial role in shaping Ghana’s energy sector.
Notably, he was a Technical Advisor in Ghana’s successful Maritime Boundary Case, securing victory on September 23, 2017.
His efforts have attracted major investments, facilitated exploration breakthroughs, and strengthened Ghana’s position as a key player in commercial oil production.
