Content creator Kwadwo Sheldon has explained his absence from a town hall meeting hosted by the National Democratic Congress in celebration of International Youth Day.
Sheldon, who is often perceived as a supporter of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), reinforced this perception by opting not to attend the event aimed at inspiring youth from all political backgrounds in anticipation of an NDC government.
During the town hall on August 12, 2024, John Dramani Mahama addressed the concerns of various young Ghanaians present at the gathering. He took the opportunity to present his initiatives and projects to the youth, allowing them to pose questions.
However, Kwadwo Sheldon faced criticism from some Ghanaians for missing this significant event, especially as a youth advocate himself. He stated that he had planned to attend but was deterred by the organizers’ actions.
He claimed that the questions posed during the event were predetermined, emphasizing his desire to ask his own questions, which the event coordinators opposed.
Consequently, he chose to abstain from participating in an event where the questions he wished to raise would be replaced with those that were prearranged.
“You know what be funny about this? They invited me for the Bukom thing on condition that they will give me the question to ask JDM..said it’s either my personal questions or nah.. be like they weren’t interested in that so I played FIFA.”
