Highlife musician Kwabena Kwabena has voiced his frustration over the tragic accident in East Legon, calling out the lack of action by authorities in preventing such incidents, particularly when prior warning signs were evident.
In an interview with Adom TV, he stressed the importance of accountability from both the public and the authorities when it comes to reckless driving by young people.
Kwabena Kwabena pointed to a viral video that had circulated on social media before the accident, showing a young man driving dangerously. The musician expressed his disappointment in law enforcement, particularly the police, for failing to act on the red flags.
“The boy’s reckless driving was posted all over social media for everyone to see,” he remarked. “We have a police department that should be monitoring these things online, yet no action was taken. It seems the laws in this country only apply to the weak and poor.”
His criticism highlights a broader issue of law enforcement inconsistencies and the need for proactive measures to prevent such tragedies. Kwabena Kwabena urged Ghanaians to shift the conversation from ridiculing those involved to reflecting on how such accidents can be avoided in the future.
“This is a lesson for all of us,” he added. “Instead of mocking the family, we should focus on learning from it because it could happen to anyone. We must prevent such incidents from happening again.”
