A tragic gas explosion has claimed the life of a first-year student of Koforidua Technical University (KTU), Rose Asante, leaving two others in critical condition at the Eastern Regional Hospital.
According to reports, the incident occurred due to a gas leak in the house where the victims lived.
While efforts were being made to trace the source of the leak, an unsuspecting occupant lit a match, triggering a devastating fire outbreak.
Rose Asante, an HND Purchasing and Supply student, along with two others, sustained severe injuries and was rushed to the hospital. Unfortunately, she did not survive.
In honour of her memory, a candlelight vigil was held on campus as students and faculty mourned her passing.
The two other victims continue to receive medical care as authorities investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
