Jackline Mensah, one of Ghana’s most popular TikTok stars, has spoken out passionately against rumours that filmmaker Kofi Asamoah impregnated and abandoned her.
The allegations, which gained traction on social media, have been dismissed as baseless by both Jackline and Kofi, who have expressed their frustration over the harm such false claims can cause.
In a candid response, Jackline did not mince words about the damage caused by the rumour. “There is a page here on TikTok called Think that publishes false news about people.
They have published a story about me that Kofi Asamoah has impregnated me and dumped me. The person doesn’t know anything about me. The truth is, Kofi and I are innocent,” she said, clearly upset by the situation.
She went on to emphasize the ripple effects such falsehoods can have on their lives. “You will never know; Kofi might be in a relationship, and your fake news can damage whatever he is building.
On the other hand, don’t you know you can block my blessings too? My future husband or destiny helper might be watching this, and this can affect me badly,” she stated with a mix of disappointment and frustration.
The rumour began when a TikTok user accused Jackline and Kofi of being romantically involved, alleging that Kofi had impregnated her and forced her to have an abortion. As the speculation spread, some fans linked Jackline’s recent quieter presence on social media to the unfounded claims.
Kofi Asamoah quickly denied the allegations, stating unequivocally, “I have never met Jackline Mensah, let alone had any kind of relationship with her.”
He expressed concern about the ease with which such damaging stories circulate online, warning about the potential harm they can inflict.
Jackline also clarified her limited interaction with Kofi, explaining, “The only time I ever saw him was during a gig. That’s it. There’s nothing more to it.”
She described the emotional toll of having to defend her integrity against baseless accusations, adding, “These lies hurt more than people realize. What if someone who wants to work with me or help me believes this? It’s unfair and unnecessary.”
