Ghanaian journalist Afia Pokuaa has revealed the devastating condition of her colleague Kofi Adomah Nwanwanii, stating that he has become suicidal following comments that his shooting incident was mere propaganda.

“Kofi Adomah has become suicidal since last night after hearing you describe his shooting as PROPAGANDA,” she wrote in a Facebook post, adding that she had to stay on the phone with him all night to calm him down.

She disclosed that Adomah, who has already undergone seven surgeries, is in excruciating pain, and his family is urgently searching for emergency medication.

“…your son is GOING BLIND, your son ohh! He has to be FLOWN OUTSIDE in the next few weeks for the 8th SURGERY,” she added, pleading for support.

Adomah sustained the severe eye injury on January 15, 2025, while covering the Kwafie Festival and the 25th anniversary of the Dormaahene’s enstoolment in Dormaa Ahenkro.

While initial reports pointed to gunpowder residue from a musketry display, his wife, Miracle Adomah, later clarified that he was deliberately shot in the face.
