Singer Keche Andrew has expressed that he feels compelled to support the National Democratic Congress (NDC) due to his wife’s connection to the party.
His wife, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, is the NDC parliamentary candidate for the Amenfi Central constituency in the Western Region.
During an interview on Kingdom FM, the singer stated that while he would be open to performing for any political party, he would specifically choose the NDC to back his wife.
“I’ve been on platforms with my wife who is an NDC candidate. I’ve performed at my wife’s political campaigns. If it was the other way round, she would definitely support me.
“It doesn’t matter. If the NDC calls me right now, I will drop everything and show up. I have to support her. I will do it because it’s my wife’s party. Takoradi is our home, so I have to just let it come home,” he said.
Meanwhile, his colleague and group partner, Keche Joshua stated on the same platform a staggering sum that would compel him to publicly support a political party during an interview on Kingdom FM.
In what seems to be a declaration of his disinterest in politics, the rapper, who is part of the Keche music duo, mentioned that he would only consider endorsing a party if offered $10 million, which he believes would allow him to leverage his influence over his fans as the elections approach.
“If anyone comes and gives me 10 million dollars to endorse a political party, I will openly campaign for that political party. Even if the person says I should retire, I will do as he says,” he shared.
