Ghanaian comedian Funny Face has been remanded by the Ofankor Circuit court in the Awutu Senya East District of the Central Region.
This comes after his involvement in a tragic accident on Sunday, March 24, where he hit four individuals – a mother with two children and a motorrider – with his car at Kakraba Junction in Kasoa. Funny Face will remain in police custody for two weeks until his next court appearance.
Previous reports on Funny Face’s fatal accident reveal a grim situation as it emerged one of the people he allegedly hit is in critical condition, while the others are receiving treatment for their serious injuries.
Adom News shared this new update, informing Ghanaians that three of the injured victims have been transferred to the Winneba Trauma and Specialist Hospital, while another is currently being treated at a local clinic in Nyanyano Kakraba.
Unfortunately, the brother of one of the victims disclosed that his sibling is in a coma at the Nyanyano Kakraba community hospital.
In an interview with Adom News, Isaac Asare, the victim’s brother, explained the challenges they faced in finding a suitable medical facility for his brother.
Initially, he was transferred to Ridge Hospital, but due to bed shortages, they were unable to admit him. They then tried the Police Hospital but faced the same issue.
As a result, they had to take him to the community hospital in Kakraba. Mr Asare expressed their hope for divine intervention to facilitate a transfer to a larger medical facility.
Earlier reports from Tru News Report shed light on a gory accident involving Funny Face and how he allegedly knocked down some people.
In the footage that accompanied the report we shared, a group of people could be seen surrounding Funny Face immediately after the accident, trying to assess the situation.
According to a witness, Funny Face was reportedly drunk driving and knocked down a woman and her two children, one of whom was strapped to her back.
Additionally, a motorcyclist was also injured due to Funny Face’s reckless driving, as he fell to the ground and onlookers rushed to his aid.
Despite the chaos, Funny Face did not speak to reporters and appeared to be struggling to stand, indicating his intoxicated state.
A woman, whose face was not visible in the video, confirmed that the eldest child of the woman involved in the accident had tragically passed away.
However, in a later update, DKB made it clear that there were no fatalities in the accident. He dismissed the rumours circulating in the media, emphasizing that he was with Funny Face when they were taken to the police station at Millennium City in Kasoa.
