In fresh entertainment news, John Dumelo has stepped in to assist students at the University of Legon who are facing a water shortage presently.
A video sighted by GhanaStreetJournal showed the actor and politician, who is preparing to contest against Lydia Alhassan for the parliamentary seat in Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, providing water tankers to the affected students.
In a social media post, John Dumelo informed his followers about the initiative.
“I responded to the plight of students on Legon campus today with regards to water shortage.
“I hope this gesture will mitigate the situation till we find a permanent solution”.
The celebrated actor, who narrowly missed defeating Lydia in the 2020 elections, recently publicly criticized his political opponent for employing questionable tactics before the elections.
He claims that Lydia Alhassan provided transportation for students from the University of Ghana to their destinations during vacation periods in April this year.
In his words, despite these alleged attempts to win votes through such means, Dumelo remains confident that his constituents will not be swayed.
He mentioned that students who used the transportation service contacted him upon arrival at their homes.
“Tough battle? Lol. The students she’s transporting are my people. They called me to say they have arrived safely home,” he responded to a tweep who said the battle would be very tough for him considering what his opponent was doing.
