John Dumelo Shares Powerful Independence Day Message

On Ghana’s 67th independence day, John Dumelo used X (Twitter) as a platform to deliver a powerful message aimed at empowering the citizens of Ghana.

The actor, politician, and entrepreneur acknowledged the various challenges and difficulties that many face. He encouraged Ghanaians to maintain a positive outlook and utilize the resources available to them to enhance their quality of life.

Dumelo highlighted the importance of agriculture in establishing a strong foundation for a prosperous future, where aspirations can be nurtured, obstacles can be overcome, and optimism can be cultivated.

Expressing his unwavering belief in Ghana’s ability to bounce back from adversity, Dumelo painted a picture of a nation brimming with hope and endless possibilities.

John Dumelo showcased his passion for agriculture and the progress he is achieving by sharing in a recent interview that he hires approximately 400 individuals annually to assist on his farms.

He mentioned that this is his way of contributing to Ghana’s economy and expressed pride in providing employment opportunities for others.

Dumelo explained that the sight of vast areas of unused land in northern Ghana, coupled with the country’s reliance on imported crops that could be cultivated domestically, motivated him to venture into farming.

“Ten years ago, I was driving to the Northern part of Ghana and saw huge fertile fields on the roadside, which can help the country farm and have more foodstuff to sustain the country. So I made up my mind to zoom into farming,” he stated.

Agribusiness, according to him, is a lucrative venture, but the misconception buried in the minds of the youth has made them think farming is reserved for old people and those living in the villages.

“When you get to our supermarkets, most of the fruits, ginger, and other stuff are imported, which should not be allowed because if we sit idle, one day we will import eggs,” he told Nhyira FM’s Nana Jantuah on ‘Kuro Yi Mu Nsem.’
