John Dumelo has been sighted in a video dancing with his political rival Lydia Alhassan who beat him to the Ayawaso West Wougon seat in the 2020 parliamentary elections.
Historically, the actor and politician lost to Lydia Alhassan of the NPP with 37,778 votes to 39,851 votes. Despite the intense rivalry between them, the two politicians could be seen dancing joyfully at an event in a video that was uploaded online.
Internet users have responded to the video by thanking the two leaders for embracing unity and togetherness and setting an example of excellent leadership.
Both candidates will square it up again for the constituency seat in the elections 2024.
In his bid to wrestle power from Lydia Alhsassan, John Dumelo recently revealed on social media that his campaign ahead of the Ayawaso West Wuogon primaries has been boosted by a money donation from some female students from some notable tertiary institutions in the country.
According to Dumelo, some young women from Legon, Knustford, and UPSA gave him a cash donation of 1,850 for use in his campaign for the upcoming parliamentary primary in the Ayawaso West Wuogon district.
Talking to his Twitter page, John Dumelo thanked his friends for the kind gesture.
“Was humbled to receive the leader of 23 ladies who contributed a total of 1,850gh towards my campaign. The ladies( who are friends) are students from Legon, Knustford and UPSA. Im truly grateful. Together let’s make Awayaso West great again! #2ndcoming #JD2024” he wrote.

John Dumelo is married to Gifty Mawunya Nkornu. He held a grand wedding at Royal Senchi Resort in Akosombo. The couple’s first child was born on 16 October 2018. He is named John Dumelo Jnr. after his father.
