Joana Gyan Cudjoe has etched her name in history as the first female to represent the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in Amenfi Central.
With a decisive win of 26,345 votes—68.53% of the total—she not only claimed the seat but also dominated all the New Patriotic Party (NPP) strongholds in the constituency.
Her opponent, Dr. Albert Wiredu Arkoh of the NPP, garnered 12,096 votes, or 31.47%.

Her journey to this historic victory wasn’t smooth sailing. Just days before the election, there was an attempt to block her from running, with her opponents trying to challenge her candidacy.
Despite these efforts, Joana Gyan Cudjoe remained steadfast, ultimately securing the highest number of votes ever seen in the history of Amenfi Central’s elections.
In addition to her political accomplishments, Joana Gyan Cudjoe is also known as the wife of Keche Andrew, one-half of the popular Ghanaian music duo Keche.
As a businesswoman and now a Member of Parliament, she is set to bring a fresh perspective and her entrepreneurial skills to the table, with hopes of driving real change and development for a constituency that has long been overlooked
