Since last year, Jeniffer and Common have been the subject of romance rumours amid claims that they “got close” while filming their latest thriller, Breathe.

The powerful singer didn’t exactly put the rumours to rest when TMZ got up with her to get the facts on Tuesday (August 1).

Jennifer Hudson was asked about the prospect of a musical collaboration after the paparazzi complimented her and Common as the cutest couple ever. She replied with a simple “thank you,” but not before slipping in the information that they had recently been sighted together on vacation.

“I like how you slipped you saw some vacation. Really?” Jennifer said with a smile. “I don’t know about that part but I don’t know. It’ll be dope to see two Chicagoans together but I don’t know about that. We’ll see. It could be [awesome].”

The camera woman then flat out asked Jennifer to clear up the rumours, to which she said: “Rumors say a lot of things. But he’s a beautiful man. I will give you that. That’s for certain.”

In the report about the two earlier this year, an “insider” said things had taken “a romantic turn” while they were filming in Philadelphia last summer.

“When the day’s shoot wrapped, they’d always find their way to each other’s side,” the insider continued. “They’ve kept up their communication since shooting the movie. They get together whenever their schedules allow. Of course, he’s known as a total flirt, but Jennifer feels there’s no harm in that, and she’s having fun.”

The duo dined at the celebrity hotspot Nobu in Malibu last year which sparked the speculations that a romance was brewing between them. Fans have been speculating for months that they’re a couple, so their public appearance won’t come as much of a surprise.

After becoming acquainted on the set of the upcoming film “Breathe,” Jennifer and Common have been spending more time together.

Jennifer was spotted riding shotgun with Common in November after he picked her up from a long day of filming for her talk show.

The singer and WWE wrestler David Otunga ended their 10-year engagement in 2017, and the rapper famously ended his relationship with Tiffany Haddish in 2021.

If they are dating, they are dangerously close to becoming the first EGOT couple in entertainment history! Jennifer earned hers with a Tony Award last year, and Common is just one Tony Award away from achieving the same honour.
