Kenyan filmmaker, scriptwriter, and content creator Abel Mutua recently revealed an intriguing insight into his YouTube earnings, shedding light on the realities of generating income through the platform.
Despite the substantial viewership and engagement on his popular Mkurugenzi channel, Mutua made it clear that YouTube’s financial rewards don’t flow directly into his pockets.
“Let me shock you, the money I get from YouTube is not bad, but my staff is huge.
“I have a payroll of fourteen guys from YouTube, I don’t stay with anything (money) made from YouTube but it is enough to ensure that everybody (workforce) has been fed (paid),” Mutua shared during an interview.
The filmmaker, who has garnered significant attention with his engaging content, elaborated on how his earnings from YouTube are funnelled primarily to support his team.
With a workforce of fourteen, Mutua ensures that his employees are compensated before he even sees a portion of the profits.
His focus on maintaining a strong team reflects his commitment to the growth of his brand and the people behind it.
