Yvonne Nelson has expressed that her controversial memoir, I’m not Yvonne Nelson, was a project that took her a long time to complete.
She noted that some people mistakenly believe she woke up and suddenly decided to release the book.
Despite facing criticism and the controversies surrounding its publication, she found comfort in sharing her truth, emphasizing that the process acted as a form of therapy for her.
During a graduation ceremony at her school, the actress remarked that everyone encounters challenges in life and harbours untold stories, making her decision to share her experiences a therapeutic outlet.
Talking to Joy News, the actress and filmmaker said:
“It’s been a wonderful ride. It was something that I was working on for the longest time. That is what people don’t know, and they thought I woke up one day and used a week to write a book.
“We all have difficulties in our lives and things that we don’t talk to anybody about and it’s been a big therapy for me to release the book. There is so much more I will want to share but let’s see what happens.”
Amazon, where the book has been listed for sale, describes I Am Not Yvonne Nelson as a captivating and explosive story of a young woman’s journey to self-discovery, only to realize she has been living a lie.
The emotional rollercoaster and unexpected twists in this poignant narrative make it read like a gripping movie script.
The main character, an actress, grapples with a harsh reality that often leaves her in tears.
Unlike typical autobiographies, the author bares it all to her readers.
The book provides an intimate look into her life, revealing both the positive and negative aspects, and shedding light on the glamorous yet deceptive world of celebrities.
