Stonebwoy has labelled himself the Roger Milla of Ghana music, emphasizing his longevity and experience in the industry.
The Bhim Nation boss said he believes that his solid foundation will ensure that his brand stands the test of time, unlike those who rely on social media antics for attention.
Stonebwoy therefore advises up-and-coming artists to focus on building a strong foundation rather than getting caught up in the hype of a viral hit song.
He stressed the importance of sustainability in maintaining relevance in the music industry during his interview with Amansan Krakye on Property FM.
In his words, “Learn from those who have come and gone the good the bad the ugly and try to find out what they did, how they did it and how you can also build upon it and add your uniqueness to become great.
“People might have come and done it so we have to respect legends and reflect on it and also grow upon it so let them keep learning and be inspired by what the pacesetters have done.
“Right now social media has even made it easier so those who just want to succeed the next day I think I understand them in a way because today you can do just one video and it’ll go viral and just the next day everybody will be mentioning your name which might make it look like you’ve arrived.
“But that’s where the danger is because with that you don’t have a foundation just like you said that I’ve been through the mill, me I’m Roger Miller and I’ve been through the mill so I’m like Roger Miller sitting here right now”.
