Ghanaian highlife musician Nero X has opened up about the motivations behind his recently composed song in support of NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama ahead of the upcoming December 7 elections.
In a heartfelt revelation, the singer described the project as a personal gesture to amend what he considers a misstep in his past political alignments.
Speaking in an interview, Nero X explained, “The fact that after doing ‘Four More’ for Nana Akufo-Addo, this is what they can do.
“I felt like I betrayed JM. So I said, let me do something for him as an apology. It’s like when you do something wrong and you try to correct it. So I’m trying to right my wrong.”

The “Osey” hitmaker made it clear that his decision to create the song was entirely self-initiated.
“I did it without any influence; I told my manager that this is what I want to do as an apology to Mahama, and I composed the song. Nobody told me to do it. I wasn’t under any control,” he added.
Nero X’s remarks reflect his deep sense of personal responsibility and the impact of his previous political affiliations.
In 2020, the artist joined several celebrities in endorsing President Nana Akufo-Addo’s re-election bid, a decision he now views with some regret following the outcomes of the administration’s policies.
