Media personality Afia Pokua’s name has been a constant topic of conversation following her comments that sparked a wave of backlash from the Ashanti community.

Yet, amid the uproar, she has focused on the unexpected benefits that emerged from the controversy.

“The issue gave me exposure I never expected. I won’t focus on the negatives; the positives have been huge.

“The fame, popularity, and connections I’ve gained are unimaginable,” she shared candidly during an interview. Highlighting her newfound connections, Afia Pokua recounted an extraordinary encounter:

“A chief who had never met me before reached out to invite me to be the MC at his birthday.” This surprising opportunity underscores how the situation has broadened her network.

The controversy began when Afia’s comments drew sharp criticism, leading to protests, press conferences, and demands for accountability from the Ashanti community.

The climax of the situation unfolded at the Manhyia Palace, where Afia was summoned to face the traditional council.

Her attempt to apologize was dismissed, and the elders declared her “cursed,” a verdict she has vehemently rejected.

“I don’t have any curse on my life. I pray like crazy. What the heavens have said concerning my life is what will manifest, not what any human being says,” she stated with conviction, showcasing her unwavering faith.
