The Ghanaian music industry thrives on collaboration and mutual support, yet some artists often feel sidelined despite their goodwill. One such artist, Sista Afia, has finally reached her breaking point.
The Jeje hitmaker openly expressed her frustration on UTV’s United Showbiz, revealing how certain colleagues failed to return the support she has consistently shown them.
“These people know themselves. This is not an attack on the entire industry, but rather a reflection on two individuals who I’ve consistently supported.

They visited my home and enjoyed my hospitality, yet they failed to return the favour. I’m hurt, and this will be the last time I go out of my way to support them,” she said, her disappointment evident.
Sista Afia, born Francisca Gawugah on January 7, 1993, in Accra, Ghana, is a prominent Ghanaian singer and songwriter known for her contributions to the highlife, afro-pop, and afrobeats genres.

She is the niece of renowned Ghanaian Bishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams. Growing up in both Accra and Kumasi, she attended the Reverend John Teye Memorial Institute before moving to the United Kingdom to pursue nursing studies.
Throughout her career, Sista Afia has received multiple nominations, such as Best Highlife Artiste at the 2021 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards and Female Act of the Year at the 2018 3Music Awards.
Her dynamic presence and musical versatility have solidified her status as a key figure in Ghana’s contemporary music scene.
