Maame Afia Akoto has disclosed the reasons behind her decision to take A Plus to court, beyond the serious accusations he made against her.
A Plus, a former Ghanaian musician turned social media commentator and pundit, launched a scathing attack on Akoto, a prominent NPP member, due to a dispute she had with his wife.
During this attack, A Plus claimed that Akoto had sent a nude photo to Maxwell Mensah, the husband of Nana Mcbrown to lure him to sleep with her which he declined.
He also made derogatory remarks about her and threatened to escalate the situation if she challenged him.
In response, Akoto warned A Plus to share the alleged photo he claimed she sent to Maxwell Mensah within a day or face legal action.
When A Plus failed to do so, Akoto took legal action to address the issue, stating that she did so on behalf of all women who have been silenced by shaming and bullying.
Her posture has caused much buzz around the entertainment news landscape in Ghana.
What happened?
A Plus accused Afia Akoto of trying to start a romantic relationship with Maxwell Mensah, the husband of actress and TV host Nana Ama McBrown.
He alleged that Afia sent explicit photos to Maxwell in an attempt to lure him, but they were prevented from being leaked because of his intervention.
“Maame Afia Akoto, do you remember the photos of that old yellowish ‘ɛtw kutu’ you sent to Maxwell to beg him to come and eat, but he ran away because it was too scary? If you don’t know Maxwell, I’m talking about McBrown’s husband. But for me, McBrown would have finished you! I had to beg for you so that those pictures wouldn’t come out to cause fear and panic in the country,” he said in his Facebook post.
He further criticized Afia, accusing her of ingratitude, and warned her about the consequences of her actions.
“I spent days solving this problem only for you to turn around and be fooling. If I resend the photos to you, you’ll shout ‘blood of Jesus!’ Ungrateful fool! Love yourself more than your party. Choose your battles wisely, if not it will go over you! You haven’t seen a foolish man before?” he added.
