Actor Kwaku Manu has shed light on the traumatic car accident that nearly cost Ghanaian actress and TV personality Nana Ama McBrown her arm.
Kwaku Manu recounted how the events unfolded on that fateful day and how McBrown’s financial resources played a crucial role in saving her from life-altering consequences.
The accident, which occurred years ago, has remained a source of deep reflection for McBrown and those close to her.
According to Kwaku Manu, McBrown’s ability to afford medical care was instrumental in her recovery. “If McBrown wasn’t rich, she would’ve been armless by now. When she recounts the full details of the accident, you will marvel,” he stated.

In the moments leading up to the accident, McBrown had an unusual change in behaviour. Known to rest her legs on the dashboard during car rides, she refrained from doing so that day—a decision that may have spared her an even worse injury.
As Kwaku Manu recounted, McBrown leaned back in her seat while waiting for the traffic light to turn green. It was then that disaster struck.
An oncoming vehicle crashed into their car, leaving McBrown unconscious. Kwaku Manu explained that she blacked out from the impact but miraculously regained consciousness before the rescue team arrived at the scene. What she awoke to was nothing short of a nightmare.
“She wasn’t aware that her arm had even been cut and was hanging,” Manu revealed, describing the severity of the injury. Part of her arm was nearly severed and had gotten caught in the car door.
“She said all the bones were broken and she was only depending on just some veins,” he added, painting a graphic picture of the extent of her injury.

The aftermath of the accident was a terrifying ordeal for McBrown, but as Kwaku Manu emphasized, her financial capacity to afford high-level medical intervention was crucial. Without it, the beloved actress may have faced permanent disability.
“Accidents do not care whether you’re a star or not,” Kwaku Manu noted, driving home the indiscriminate nature of such tragedies.
