Ghanaian actress and former Angel TV presenter, Xandy Kamel, has shared a heartbreaking account of her time at the station, detailing unfair treatment, unpaid salaries, and a lack of appreciation for her sacrifices.

In an interview with Zionfelix, Xandy revealed that despite her dedication to the company, she was abruptly asked to stay home after a change in management.

“Someone had damaging evidence about the owner of Angel TV, and I had to go behind the scenes and plead with him to delete it.

“To wake up one morning only to hear there had been a change in management and I should stay home until further notice is heartbreaking.”

According to Xandy, she had been home for the past three years, with little to no communication from the management regarding her future at the company.

She also revealed that she was only paid for three months after persistently following up on her salary, but the payments eventually stopped.

“I’ve been at home for the past three years… They only paid us when I called to inquire about my return, but even then, salaries came for three months and then stopped.

“I couldn’t keep calling them about it.” Beyond the financial struggles, Xandy lamented how much effort she had put into her work, only to be undervalued.

She disclosed that she was earning around GH¢2,000 despite juggling multiple roles at the station.

“I was paid around GH¢2,000, and I did all these things for peanuts. To be treated unfairly after giving my all is an insult.”

Her ordeal paints a grim picture of the work culture at Angel TV, where, according to her, employees were often overworked and left in vulnerable situations.

“She described the lack of support and security for staff, especially during late-night productions.

“Angel TV took a lot from me. I couldn’t do things for myself because I was doing three shows and even worked as a producer. Sometimes we would finish late at night with no driver to take us home. The staff is often left vulnerable and attacked. Management there is terrible.”
