Ola Olukoyede, the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and social media sensation Bobrisky failed to attend a House of Representatives invitation, raising eyebrows among committee members.
Meanwhile, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), made a notable appearance at the National Assembly, where he was expected to shed light on serious allegations against Bobrisky.
During the proceedings, VDM was asked to provide insights into claims that Bobrisky had bribed EFCC and Correctional Services officials with N15 million to secure a VIP section for himself at the Kirikiri Medium Custodial Centre.
However, VDM made it clear he had no intention of speaking without the presence of the individuals at the center of the allegations.
“I don’t know why I will be here and the person who made these allegations is not here,” he stated emphatically.
He continued, referencing Bobrisky’s own comments, saying, “Bobrisky said in the voice note that there is a godfather. Maybe the godfather told him not to come.
He has disrespected this committee by not coming here.” The frustration in VDM’s voice echoed the sentiment that the committee was not being taken seriously, as he demanded accountability from the absent figures.
The atmosphere turned tense when VDM remarked, “You are already threatening me with arrest. If you detain me, I will stay in the cell. If Bobrisky is not here, I will not say anything.
If I say anything, let me die.” His words highlighted a growing sense of apprehension surrounding the investigation, suggesting a deep-rooted fear of repercussions for speaking out.
Despite members of the committee urging him to share what he knew, promising that Bobrisky would also eventually face the panel, VDM remained firm in his stance.
He reiterated that without Bobrisky present, he would not engage with the allegations, effectively stalling the inquiry into the scandal.
