Nigerian singer and songwriter Seun Kuti has made it clear that he would not end his marriage with his wife, Yetunde Kuti if she were to cheat on him.

In a recent appearance on TVC’s entertainment and lifestyle programme, ‘Your View,’ the couple shared their thoughts on their relationship.

Interestingly, Yetunde also expressed her commitment to their marriage, stating that she would never consider divorcing Seun even if he were unfaithful. According to Seun, their decision is based on the belief that infidelity should not be a reason to break their marital bond.

Yetunde said; “There is nothing my husband is going to do that would make me leave him. Even if he cheats on me I won’t leave him. I am not going to leave my husband because he cheated on me. Nah, that can’t happen.”

Seun inferred: “We don’t believe in cheating. What is cheating? Love is not ownership.”

The anchor asked Seun; “Would you leave her [your wife] if she cheats on you,” to which he replied; “No. What has that got to do with anything?”

Seun Kuti, the youngest son of Fela Kuti, was born in 1983. His passion for music began at the tender age of five, and by the time he reached nine, he was already performing alongside his father’s band, Egypt 80. Following Fela Kuti’s passing in 1997, Seun Kuti stepped up to lead Egypt 80.

In 2008, the band released their debut album titled “Many Things” under the name Seun Kuti & Egypt 80. Notably, he collaborated with Calle 13 on their song “Todo se mueve” (Everything Moves) from their 2010 album “Entren los que quieran.”

In 2014, Seun Kuti received an honorary invitation to perform live for the first time at the Industry Nite. Additionally, in 2019, he was featured as a guest artist on American rapper Jidenna’s second album, “85 to Africa.” Furthermore, Kuti’s involvement in the Visual Collaborative electronic catalogue, specifically the Polaris series, showcased his insights on Pan-African awareness, his homeland, and his music.
