I Won’t Last a Week – Ramsey Nouah’s Bold Take on Politics

In recent years, a growing trend has seen many actors and public figures transition from the entertainment industry into politics, sparking discussions about their motives and the pressures that come with this shift.

One of the latest to weigh in on the subject is Nigerian actor Ramsey Nouah, who, during an interview with Ghana’s ace media personality on OKAY FM, shared his candid take on politics and some of the personalities involved.

“Aside from the film industry, everyone is going into politics; however, I think if I try, I won’t last a week,” Ramsey said bluntly.

“They will kill me before my time. I don’t know how to be diplomatic, so I want things as they should be.”

These words, tinged with his trademark candor, echoed his hesitation about delving into the murky waters of political life, a sentiment that many public figures, especially in Africa, can relate to.

Politics, with its delicate dance of diplomacy and compromise, often proves difficult for those accustomed to the straightforwardness of show business. “Also, politicians are bloody liars,” Ramsey continued.

“They will never tell you the truth because they can sell you and sell your soul.” His disdain for the falsehoods and power plays in politics reflects the growing disillusionment some people feel towards politicians who often fall short of the promises they make to the public.

Ramsey also took a shot at his colleague, actor-turned-politician John Dumelo, who has made headlines for his own political ambitions in Ghana.

“All of us can’t be on the front line; everyone can’t be on the stage because some of us have to be behind and clap.

John Dumelo has been the number one liar before going into politics… Tell John I am in his country; he should come and arrest me,” Ramsey said, his words pointing to the often complicated relationship between entertainment and politics.
