In a recent interview with Poleeno Multimedia, controversial Ghanaian preacher Prophet Azuka made a bold declaration, claiming that he possesses greater power than the revered Ashanti priest Okomfo Anokye.
Azuka, known for his provocative statements, vowed that he would achieve feats even more remarkable than those attributed to Okomfo Anokye, a figure deeply respected in Ghana’s history.
Azuka suggested that only “sensible individuals” would understand and believe his prophetic abilities, while those who questioned him would struggle to grasp his actions.
The Ashanti priest, who lived in the late 17th century, is considered one of the most influential figures in the formation of the Ashanti Empire.
As the chief priest and spiritual advisor to King Osei Tutu, Okomfo Anokye is credited with uniting the Ashanti people through his legendary mystical powers, including the conjuring of the Golden Stool, a sacred symbol representing the soul and unity of the Ashanti nation.
Okomfo Anokye’s legacy is vast and sacred. Among his many legendary acts is his ability to summon the Golden Stool from the heavens, solidifying the divine rule of King Osei Tutu.
The stool remains a powerful symbol of the Ashanti people, representing their unity and the sanctity of their culture.
Anokye is also known for planting an immovable sword in the ground in Kumasi, a symbol of peace and strength, which remains lodged in the earth to this day.
This sword has become an enduring part of Ashanti history, and legend holds that removing it would spell the collapse of the Ashanti Kingdom.
For Prophet Azuka to declare himself superior to such a revered figure has provoked both intrigue and outrage.
To many Ghanaians, Okomfo Anokye’s spiritual and cultural significance is unmatched. His legacy is woven into the fabric of the Ashanti identity, making Azuka’s comparison feel sacrilegious to some.
