Disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein has launched a legal battle against his brother, Bob Weinstein, and former executives of The Weinstein Company (TWC), alleging that they deceived him into personally guaranteeing a $45 million loan in 2016—only for the funds to be mismanaged and misappropriated.
Filed on February 14, 2025, in a New York court, the lawsuit accuses Bob Weinstein and ex-TWC Chief Operating Officer David Glasser of financial misconduct, claiming they siphoned off millions while leaving the company financially crippled.

Weinstein argues that his brother withdrew at least $6 million, while Glasser allegedly took $5 million in bonuses and even paid his father $1 million without legitimate business justification.
Harvey Weinstein’s lawyer, Imran Ansari, asserted: “Harvey Weinstein was deceived by those closest to him. He secured a $45 million loan under the pretense of saving The Weinstein Company, but instead, others within the company enriched themselves and orchestrated its downfall.”

The lawsuit comes as Weinstein, currently serving a 23-year prison sentence, faces a retrial after his 2020 sex crime conviction was overturned.
Now, he is seeking financial relief and punitive damages, claiming that his name and assets were used to prop up a failing company while others profited at his expense.
Bob Weinstein’s attorney, Brian Kohn, has dismissed the claims as baseless, stating:
“This lawsuit is nothing more than a desperate attempt by Harvey Weinstein to shift blame.”
