Ghanaian musician King Paluta has shared his perspective on handling criticism, revealing that negative comments have played a key role in shaping his career.
“I don’t care. If I can pick something useful from what they say, I will. The critics might think they’re bringing me down with what they say, but their insults and negative comments are what made me who I am today,” he stated during an interview on TV3’s Afternoon Show.
Reflecting on his transition from rap to singing, King Paluta credited critics for pushing him in the right direction.
“My core fans know I used to do rap. But some people would criticise my rap. Anytime I dropped a rap song, people would come under my comments and be like, why don’t you sing?
“So instead of letting their words get to me, they rather motivated me. I tried doing more singing. So the critics are the reason why I’m here,” he explained.
The Aseda hitmaker also emphasized the importance of having the right people in his team.
“We’ve worked with some people where we weren’t getting what we were supposed to get. But using the right people is where we are now. If you don’t have the right people around you, you’ll slide away. They give you helpful tips and guide you in the right direction.”
