Tems has disclosed that skydiving stands as the boldest escapade she has ever undertaken, reminiscing about being forcefully pushed off mid-air to commence the extraordinary journey.
The Nigerian vocalist remains uncertain about what compelled her to engage in the endeavour, as a multitude of random thoughts raced through her mind while they were leaping from the sky.
She questioned whether she would emerge unscathed from the skydiving ordeal, but fortunately, she defied all obstacles to participate in it, and now it resides as one of the invigorating memories firmly etched in her repertoire of experiences.
The interviewer asked, “What’s the most dangerous thing you’ve every done?”
Tems responded; “The most dangerous thing I’ve ever done is jump out of a plane. I don’t even know how high but I went skydiving once. And I think for a second I was like, ‘Am I dying? I don’t know who sent me to do this. I don’t know why I decided to do this but here I am falling.’
“My uncle convinced me and my cousins to jump. I was like, ‘Wow! So cool. Daredevil.’ And then we got into the plane and I was like I will just stay in the plane and they said I can’t. They pushed us out.”
Last year, Tems clarified in a new interview that she is primarily Nigerian and that she is only a British citizen on paper.
The Grammy award-winning singer (she won the Best Melodic Rap Performance category for her contribution to the hit song Wait for U with Future and Drake at the 65th Grammys) said that she spent most of her childhood in Nigeria and that the music she listened to there served as her influence.
When questioned if her English ancestry has an impact on the type of music she releases, Tems responded in the affirmative during an interview on Jazzys World TV.
“I mostly grew up in Nigeria, so I’m mostly Nigerian. I am only British on paper,” she said.
