Kurl Songx has opened up about his controversial departure from the Highly Spiritual record label, founded by music producer Kaywa.

He acknowledged his own shortcomings, admitting that his impatience to gain independence and pursue personal financial success ultimately led to negative consequences.

In a conversation with Adom TV’s Maame Boatemaa, Songx reflected on how his journey as an independent artist has imparted significant lessons regarding the complexities of establishing a music brand.

In his words, he realized the true extent of these challenges only after leaving the label that had been instrumental in his ascent to prominence.

“I realize now that I wasn’t patient enough. I should have taken my time. As a young artiste, I moved too quickly.

“Being independent isn’t as easy as it seems; you only understand the work involved when you step out on your own.

“It made me appreciate Kaywa (Papa) even more. It’s not easy for someone to lift you from nowhere. The least I could have done was to be grateful,” Kurl Songx said.
