Nigerian socialite Bobrisky has never been one to shy away from controversy, and his recent tirade against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is no exception.
In an emotional outburst on social media, Bobrisky described the EFCC as the “most wicked people in Nigeria,” expressing deep-seated resentment toward the agency.
His remarks followed the EFCC’s public appeal for empathy after the death of one of its operatives during a raid in Anambra.
The EFCC had released a statement asking Nigerians to show compassion and humanity following the tragic loss of their staff member.
However, Bobrisky was far from sympathetic, citing personal grievances with the agency.
“I just don’t like reading anything about EFCC online, cus I feel like I want to throw up each time I read about them,” he said, setting the stage for a scathing critique.
Bobrisky recalled a troubling experience with the EFCC that left a lasting impression. “When I was in your custody, you took me to my house and searched my house.
When I asked you guys why, you claimed I’m into money laundering, you want to check if I’m not printing money in my house,” he revealed, pointing to what he perceived as baseless accusations and harassment.
His frustrations boiled over as he added, “Police are better than you all one million times.”
For Bobrisky, the EFCC’s plea for empathy seemed hypocritical, given what he described as the agency’s own lack of humanity.
“You are asking the public to be human about the loss of one of your staff, but you are the most wicked people in Nigeria,” he stated bluntly, reflecting a sentiment shared by many Nigerians who have criticized the agency for its controversial practices.
