In an interview on Hitz FM, rising musician Safo Newman shed light on Shatta Wale’s comments regarding his fashion sense, offering a refreshing perspective on the seemingly critical remarks made by the dancehall superstar.
While many may have perceived Wale’s statements as harsh, Safo interpreted them as constructive feedback rather than criticism.
Speaking with Hitz FM’s Andy Dostry, Safo was asked about the comments Wale made concerning his choice of attire, particularly his cap and overall appearance.
Rather than taking offence, Safo explained that he viewed the remarks as Wale’s way of offering guidance.
“When Wale spoke about my appearance, I didn’t take it as an attack,” Safo said, adding, “I saw it as advice from a big brother in the industry. He was just pointing out things he thought could be improved.”
Safo further clarified that this wasn’t the first time he had been questioned about his fashion choices.
He had already addressed Wale’s concerns during an interview with Onua FM, where he assured the public and Wale himself that he was aware of his image and was actively working on enhancing it.
“Improvement is a process. I’m still learning and growing as an artist, and the way I present myself is part of that journey,” Safo remarked, showing a level of maturity beyond his years.
“I respect Shatta Wale a lot, and I understand where he’s coming from. It’s all about evolving, and I’m committed to doing just that.”
