Ghanaian socialite and content creator, Showboy has revealed in an interview with Fiifi Praat on Kingdom Plus FM that he engaged in illicit activities during his time in a US prison.
He confessed that his illegal ventures, which included the sale of drugs and other prohibited items, proved to be highly profitable.
In fact, he believes that if he had remained incarcerated for a longer period, he would have amassed even greater wealth.
Showboy explained that the exorbitant prices of goods in prison, which are approximately 1,000 times higher than their regular market value, presented a lucrative opportunity for those who could successfully smuggle and sell items within the confines of the correctional facility.
This allowed individuals like him to capitalize on the demand and make substantial profits.
Showboy, real name Sam Safo, was deported to Ghana in 2023 after serving four years in jail for stabbing a friend, named Junior US.
In March 2019, Showboy was given a six-year prison sentence for stabbing Junior US, a Ghanaian singer and a friend of Shatta Wale living in the US, following an altercation.
Junior US managed to survive the stabbing but died in a robbery attack in 2021.
At the time of Junior’s death, many people accused Showboy’s thugs of carrying out the crime but that was disputed when the real culprits were later apprehended by the US Police.
