Shatta Michy has broken her silence about the breakdown of her relationship with Shatta Wale.
In an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM, she shared her perspective on the tumultuous years spent with Shatta Wale, as well as the personal risks she took to support him.
In a direct response to Shatta Wale’s recent comments on their breakup, Michy expressed frustration over the lack of appreciation she felt from her former partner. “It’s all settings. When we decide to talk, it won’t be easy,” she said.
“Everybody knows the kind of home I came from before meeting him, so he shouldn’t even be talking about appreciation. There’s a lot I haven’t said yet. When I met him, I took a huge risk with the state he was in. Which lady would have risked it all for him like I did?”
Michy’s words come after Shatta Wale shared his own side of the story in a Rants, Bants, and Confessions podcast interview.

The dancehall king explained that, despite his best efforts to make the relationship work, he felt unappreciated by Michy.
He also alluded to a painful ending to their romance, stating, “She should know that I loved her so much that I didn’t want to leave her. But she wasn’t appreciative of all that I did for her.”
In her interview, Michy firmly countered these claims, asserting that she poured her full strength and support into the relationship.
“I can’t pour all my strength and support behind someone to help them succeed, only for them to later say I didn’t appreciate them,” she explained. “How many people would leave a home like mine to support him the way I did? I don’t even want to be sad about it.”
The couple, who share a son, have been in the spotlight for years due to their very public relationship, which has been marked by both passionate moments and controversy.

Despite the drama surrounding their breakup, Michy emphasized the need to move forward, urging both parties to stop blaming each other after seven years.
“After seven years, I think we should all move on and stop apportioning blame,” she added.
Shatta Michy also revealed that she is now dating someone in private, expressing that she no longer desires a public relationship.
“I’m dating someone on the low. I don’t think I want a public relationship again. You need to be very discerning to manage public relationships; it’s a lot. Everyone wants to talk about it,” she shared, signalling a shift in her approach to romance and her personal life.
