I Pay $300 For My Haircut- Sonnie Badu Reveals

, Ghana Street Journal

Sonnie Badu has disclosed the sum he allocates for his haircut in an interview while in Ghana, sparking a wave of excitement on the internet and beyond.

He considers his hair to be his pride, much like Samson from the Bible, and therefore, he is adamant about not allowing anyone else to handle it.

Consequently, he exclusively relies on two barbers, one in Ghana and the other in the US. Whenever he is in Ghana, the barber attends to both him and his son.

Additionally, the renowned gospel musician and man of God mentioned that he exclusively permits the US barber to provide him with exceptional service by visiting his residence.

Remarkably, Sonnie divulges that he pays a staggering $300 for his haircut. When converted to Ghanaian cedis, this amount exceeds GHC 3,600. Although he did not specify whether the Ghanaian barber charges the same fee, the announcement has undeniably sparked significant reactions for obvious reasons.

In a Facebook post shared in 2022, Sonnie Badu subtly mentioned the possibility of parting ways with his iconic hair. Seeking the opinion of his fans, he emphasized that the ultimate decision to bid farewell to his afro-dreadlocks lies in the hands of his wife.

He wrote on Facebook: “Finally going to cut the hair … what do you think? Ivory Coast so you want see me with it or without ? Let me know, my wife has the final say tho lol …”
