I Paid More Than $50K to Settle My Issue with Ogidi Brown – Fameye

Ghanaian musician Fameye has finally opened up about how he resolved his long-standing dispute with his former manager, Ogidi Brown.

The feud, which escalated in 2021, saw Ogidi Brown publicly accusing Fameye of owing him $50,000 and even threatening to take the matter to the powerful ‘Antoa’ deity for justice.

In a recent interview on The Delay Show, Fameye revealed that although there were warning signs before things got heated, they didn’t pay much attention to them. However, the issue was eventually settled at the Antoa shrine, even though he was not in Ghana at the time.

“Before the issue between Ogidi and me, there were signs, but we didn’t notice. But we’ve settled it at Antoa. I wasn’t in Ghana at that time, so some of my family members represented me there. Later, when I got back, I went there. Everything came down to me giving him money, and I even paid more than the $50,000,” he disclosed.

Despite the controversy, Fameye’s career did not take a hit. In fact, he claims his success only grew after parting ways with Ogidi Brown.

He recalled that his first song after their fallout, Mati, became a hit, and he has continued to release back-to-back successful songs ever since.

“After we parted ways, my next song was ‘Mati,’ and it became a hit. Ever since then, every song I’ve released has been a hit. God has been good. I have hit songs, and if you don’t attend my shows, you might think I’m not a big artiste,” Fameye said.

The dispute between Fameye and Ogidi Brown was one of the most talked-about controversies in Ghana’s music industry in 2021.

At the height of the conflict, Ogidi Brown took to Facebook to demand his money within two weeks, claiming it was part of the exit clause in Fameye’s contract. After threats and public outbursts, the matter was eventually settled spiritually at Antoa, bringing an end to the dispute.
