In a bold revelation, content creator and former teacher, Teacher Kwadwo, has publicly renounced Christianity, sharing with the public his personal journey of questioning and ultimately rejecting his faith.

During an interview with popular Ghanaian blogger Zionfelix, Teacher Kwadwo, whose real name is Kwadwo Afriyie, explained that he no longer holds belief in the existence of God or in Jesus Christ, stating that he arrived at this conclusion after years of seeking answers to life’s most profound questions.

“I was passionate about seeking the truth and trying to understand the complexities of life. Over time, I found myself unable to reconcile my experiences and the answers I sought with the teachings of Christianity,” Teacher Kwadwo explained.

“Earlier this year, I decided to let go of the idea of God and Jesus Christ. I just couldn’t hold on to something that didn’t feel true to me anymore.”

Religion, particularly Christianity, is a deeply ingrained part of the fabric of Ghanaian society, and Teacher Kwadwo was quick to acknowledge the sensitivities surrounding such declarations. He spoke candidly about the strong reactions he has received from others in response to his shift in beliefs.

“Religion is a very sensitive topic in Ghana and across Africa. A lot of people have been conditioned over the years through the Bible and other religious texts. When I share my views, Christians often respond with hostility, and some are just not open to hearing my side of the story,” he shared.

However, Teacher Kwadwo noted that his friends, when listening to his perspective, were more receptive.

“When I talk to my friends about this, they see the validity in what I’m saying. But they’re afraid to take the same step because they’re worried about how people will treat them or the backlash they might face,” he said.

The former educator clarified that his decision to reject Christianity is not connected to the professional challenges he faced after being dismissed by the Ghana Education Service (GES) in the past.

“People sometimes think this change in my beliefs is because of what happened with the GES, but that’s not the case at all. This is about my personal journey and the questions I’ve been asking for years,” Teacher Kwadwo asserted.
