Asantewaa employed a strategic approach to deflect the barrage of inquiries from actress Emelia Brobbey and the host of Okukuseku during a recent interview.
Emelia Brobbey, while highlighting the detrimental impact of baseless accusations on celebrities and their reputation in the long run, provided Asantewaa with the opportunity to address the various rumours surrounding her.
In her response, Asantewaa informed Emelia and the host that she had also heard rumours about Emelia stealing a watch in the UK.
This underscored her point that false information about celebrities spreads easily without proper verification of the facts.
Asantewaa then discussed her approach to handling such undeserved scrutiny.
“I believe that if people get tired of the false accusations, insults, and rumours, they will eventually stop. For instance, there was a recent rumour circulating that you stole someone’s watch in the UK.
“Whether true or not, these stories tend to resurface even after they fade away. Sometimes, it’s not about me specifically; people just use my name to gain popularity or promote their products and services.”
In response, Emelia Brobbey acknowledged the persistence of that particular rumour, stating, “Just recently, another person came forward to talk about the same issue of me stealing a watch. It hasn’t even been two weeks.”
Asantewaa also emphasised that she only pays attention to such developments if there is an opportunity to profit from them.
“I generally don’t let rumours affect me unless there’s a chance to make money from it,” she added, sparking waves of new perspectives shrouding entertainment news in Ghana.
