Reggae/Dancehall Artiste of the Year winner at Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) for 9 consecutive times, Stonebwoy has made it clear that he played no part in Shatta Wale’s unfortunate situation regarding his Legon concert, which was abruptly cancelled.
In an exclusive interview with Asaase Radio at their state-of-the-art studios, Stonebwoy emphasized that he does not possess the authority to manipulate political forces to hinder Shatta Wale’s concert.
Stonebwoy expressed his astonishment at Wale’s accusations, highlighting that the Dean of Students had already issued a statement clarifying their involvement in the debacle.
Furthermore, Stonebwoy dismissed Wale’s claims as absurd, stating that it is ludicrous for him to believe he possesses unlimited power to undermine others through his influence.
He acknowledged his own influence but firmly asserted that he would never misuse it to bring harm to another individual.
“That was really ridiculous to have heard that [I had Shatta’s show cancelled] because it’s just like waking up in the morning to being accused strongly of extra powers. You know I have power but…”
“And I have nothing at all to do with it, so I’m surprised where the accusations will be coming from,” he added.
“But I believe it’s normal, as you know, with a brother like him [Shatta Wale] to always find a way to make me look very powerful, he believes in your power.”
“That’s the only thing I can say about it because I don’t even know where to start. Like, it’s ridiculous.”
“I ain’t clashing any more. The thing is, if anybody has to clash with me with all due respect, I think you have to be on my level,” Stonebwoy said.
Shatta Wale resorted to his usual aggressive behaviour by verbally attacking Stonebwoy, accusing him of sabotaging his concert scheduled for June 8 at James Topp Nelson Yankah Hall (TF Hostel).
Meanwhile, Stonebwoy successfully held his concert at Liman Hall on the same day on the University of Ghana campus. Despite being excluded from the lineup, Shatta Wale was furious that the concert proceeded without him.
